Story

Emma is climbing Carrauntoohil in memory of her father Des. Located in County Kerry, Carrauntoohil is the central peak of the MacGillycuddy’s Reeks and standing at 1039 m, Carrauntoohil is the highest mountain on the island of Ireland. My Dad taught me a lot about Ireland and told a lot of stories about Killarney and Carrauntoohil. I am looking forward to the climb and also exploring an area that he enjoyed so much. I am completing the climb in a pair of my Dad’s hiking boots, so he will be with me every step of the way.
